I will say that I'm not a huge fan of the movies where the majority of the action takes place "in one room" or "in a car" - those movies never really appeal to me and tend to feel like they quickly lose steam and drag on. Super stressful but had a very satisfying conclusion. I was anxious and on edge throughout the film - a mother locked in a pantry unable to protect her children from the predator on the other side of the door. I'll be honest, with the subject matter - it was tough to watch.
SHUT IN FREE FULL MOVIE MOVIE
This was a solid movie and had a great message. Still, I'm impressed that The Daily Wire made something apolitical and competently helmed. It goes from gritty thriller to corny fairytale ending and it was kind of laughable. The ending also leaves something to be desired. Whenever the film focused on this, the dialogue was very forced. But the script also tries to give her a redemption arc, and these are unfortunately the parts that came across as really cheesy to me. The script gives Jessica just enough to do and just enough to say so that we can really understand her as a character and get to know her goals and her thought process. The perspective is constantly shifting, and it makes this location feel bigger and this story feel more eventful than they are on paper. About 50-60% of this film takes place in a pantry, with the rest happening in the surrounding single house, yet it never feels like Caruso uses the same camera angle twice. Common Sense got this film wrong.I was actually very impressed with DJ Caruso's cinematography and how he was able to make great use of the very small location. Though there is a lot of full frontal nudity + the orgy scene which lasts for 4 minutes, there is a meaning, it's just very hard to find. So in the end, EYES WIDE SHUT is a disturbing, sometimes satirical, and thoughtful movie. Language contained about 20 f words, not much else. Many people have sex yet it is not titilating, it's disturbing with barely any moaning at at. This is so evident in the EXTREMELY GRAPHIC secret society-party-orgy scene. How does sex with someone you love compare to sex with someone you barely even know. What is the movie about? I think it's about intimacy and how that compares to sex without mental relations. But later that night as I thought about it, I was overcome with questions and confusion and finally made a decision. At first I didn't know what to think of it. It was on Netflix so I decided to give it a try since Kubrick was my favorite director (still is). For example, the first time I saw this movie I was 13 years old. It really depends on the maturity level and how you interpret the film. Though I usually put an age for my reviews, for this one I can't.

Yet, even though it has a meaning, young kids and immature adults (hence, whoever called this movie porno trash). What does it mean to give yourself to another body and mind? That was a huge question on my mind after I pondered a couple hours as to what the movie means. This is one of my favorites film because it prompts you to ask questions and doesn't give you the answers.

Eyes wide shut is an amazing film with great philosophical themes and messages, unlike other reviews that call this movie "Pornographic garbage".
